The course will cover Gun Safety, Gun Storage, Types of Firearms and Their Parts, Magazines, Ammunition, Sights, What to Expect at the Range, What You Need at the Range, Cleaning and Maintaining Your Gun
The NRA Basic Pistol Shooting Course introduces students to the knowledge, skills and attitude necessary for owning and using a pistol safely. Through this course, the students will learn about pistol parts and operation, ammunition, gun safety, pistol shooting fundamentals, and pistol shooting activities. The Basic Pistol Course will also help prepare the student for participation in other NRA courses.
We will accompany you to the range and instruct you in the proper hand and shooting positions with a goal of transferring basic shooting skills on a one to one basis. This course is usually 2 hours in length. CCW course of fire training is also available as a private lesson.
The Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act of 2004 (LEOSA), exempts a “qualified retired law enforcement officer” carrying a LEOSA photographic identification, such as CBP LEOSA Identification or CBP retired/separated LEO credentials, along with an annual state firearms test certification, from most state and local laws. Upon completion of qualification, an updated LEOSA card will be issued.
We will provide the NRA Guide Basics of Pistol Shooting book, ammunition, firearms, and safety gear (eye and ear protection) that will be needed for each course.
All you need to bring is a lunch.
